Fitting Instructions

Step 1 of 9 – Safety (please do not skip this step)

Use a wire/pipe power detector to ensure that there are no electrical cables or water pipes in the wall where you intend to position the bedside unit. You do not want to electrocute yourself, or flood your house!

Step 2 of 9 – Vertical positioning of the bedside cabinet

Use a tape measure or spirit level to mark the height position of the cabinet on your wall. The pencil mark should be to the top edge of the wall support element and as such should be 28mm below the top edge of the bedside cabinet.

Step 3 of 9 – Horizontal positioning of the bedside cabinet

Use a tape measure or spirit level to mark the horizontal position of the cabinet on your wall. The pencil mark should be to the side edge of the wall support element and as such should be 6mm inside the side edge of the bedside cabinet.

Step 4 of 9 – Draw a level line

Use the spirit level and a pencil to draw a perfectly horizontal line along the area of the wall where you intend to mount the bedside cabinet. If your spirit level has a measure on it, draw the line from the horizontal mark carried out in step 3 to the full length of the support element. If not, use your tape measure and redraw the lines a couple of times the same length as the wall support element.

Step 5 of 9 – Mark the position of the wall support element

Offer the wall support element to the horizontal line marked in step 3 and align the side edge to the mark done in step 4. Keeping the wall support element perfectly still, use a pencil to mark the screw holes on the wall (this is usually easier as a two person job).

Step 6 of 9 – Drill into the wall

Use a wood drill bit for studded or plasterboard walls or masonry bit for stone, brick or breezeblock walls. Drill into the walls on the dead centre of all your screw-hole markings. Drill the holes deep enough into the wall to fully accommodate the raw plugs.

Step 7 of 9 – Insert raw plugs

Insert the raw plugs into the drilled holes. Ensure that the raw plugs are fully inserted and they sit flush to the wall – tap gently with a hammer if necessary. If any raw plugs are sticking out, they will prevent the wall support element from sitting flush to the wall when mounted.

Step 8 of 9 – Fix the wall support element

Screw the wall support element into position onto the wall using a screwdriver and countersunk screws

Safety tip – Ensure you use long sturdy screws and applicable raw plugs. These will be taking all the weight of your bedside cabinet and its items

Step 9 of 9 – Fixing the bedside cabinet

Position your beside cabinet over the wall support element and ensure that it is level and locked into position. When positioned correctly the bedside cabinet should not move side to side.

Safety tip – Once in position, it is recommended to fit a small woodscrew into the back panel of the bedside cabinet and long enough to screw into the wall support element. This will prevent the bedside cabinet from being dislodged vertically and will make it more secure.

Bedside cabinet with drawers – In order to gain access to the back of the bedside cabinet, the drawer can be removed by pressing the two side clips situated underneath the drawer and lifting the drawer box off the runners. Following all of the same instructions as above, then, once in position insert the drawer.
