The Floating Shelf Company produces a number of bespoke shelving solutions in a range of materials, including high quality, premium grade solid hardwoods and hand-painted MDF.
All shelves are produced to your exact requirements, including your choice of corners, edging and drill holes, at no additional charge. All fixings for each shelf are supplied and included in the final cost.
Our skilled joiners individually handcraft each shelf from scratch, exclusively for you, in our Hertfordshire workshop, and can work to almost any design. Our Solid Hardwood Shelves
At the Floating Shelf Company, we only select and use the highest quality timbers for your wooden shelves. producing them in a wide range of timbers and bespoke designs. Choose from solid 44mm thick oak, ash or walnut. Each shelf is made-to-measure from kiln-dried wooden planks which are sawn, planed and sanded to a smooth 240 grit finish.
All our solid hardwood shelves are finished with three protective coats of Danish oil or beeswax. If you wish to paint or varnish your shelves instead, please let us know and we will supply them to you unfinished. All oak shelves can also be stained to a medium or dark oak wax finish if you need to colour-match existing oak furniture or flooring.
Our MDF Shelves
The Floating Shelf Company also provides a range of quality MDF shelving solutions. Unlike traditional MDF, our MDF comes in 25mm or 38mm thickness as standard, which ensures a higher quality feel. Each shelf is hand-painted in a range of colours – white, black, grey, pink or blue – in addition to unprimed MDF shelving, which you can paint to match your existing space.
